Meet Your Next Book Boyfriend: 5 Times Alex “Easy” Rogers of On Broken Wings by Chanel Cleeton Made Falling in Love With Him So Easy

#YourNextBBF is a 14-day tour of book boyfriends from various romance books hosted by Foxy Blogs with the participation of other lovely blogs.

Alex, call sign Easy, Rogers topped my book boyfriend list last year. Aside from being a fighter pilot (IKR?!) that actually looks more like an underwear model, this man just makes falling in love (with him) so effortless. Like blinking of an eye. Like breathing. His story is an emotional friends-to-lovers, unrequited romance and very well written.

    My dad.
  14. My hidden talent is…
I’m a really good singer, but only in the shower.
  15. First thing I notice in a person is…
    Their sense of humor.

V. He is very easy on the eyes.

Long eyelashes? Yep. Blue eyes? Absolutely. High cheekbones? Check. Full lips? Check. Defined, tan abs that gave way to indents on either side of his hips? Check check check! Plus points? He is really, really good in bed. Like multiple orgasms satisfied! Haha!

IV. He notices all the things about you

Like the freckle below your right knee. Like your allergy to fruits. Like how you are right-handed but hold your fork in your left hand.

III. He knows what to bring you instead of flowers: food

You know what they say: the easiest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. I’d like to think this is appropriate for the women as well. Because really who can’t say no to food? Huh, definitely not me! It’s just a very sweet gesture–man knowing what your favorite food are and bringing them over to cheer the woman up. And Easy aced this department very well.

“Did you get–”
“Iced with sprinkles.”
“You’re the best.”
“I got coffee, too. Hazelnut.”

“Yeah, pizza sounds good.”
“Mushroom and sausage, right?”

“I heard you missed out on tiramisu.”
“You went to Carmine’s and picked up tiramisu for me?”
He nodded.
“How did you even know?”
“I talked to Jordan, and she mentioned your date didn’t go well. I know you; it’s your favorite. I figured you could use some cheering up.”

“Is there anything you want me to bring over? Pickles? Ice cream? Sprinkle donuts?

II. He can be your rock.

The thing about Easy, he won’t leave you when things get difficult, when life seems to hate you. Ever. He’ll just be there holding you because he understands things like you do. You don’t even have to pretend that you’re not hurting because he just gets it. You don’t have to play safe. You can just be yourself around him without being judged because that’s how perfect he is.

I loved him because I didn’t have to explain, he’d just understood, and been there for me when I’d needed it.

“I don’t need to be someone in her life in order for her to be the most important person in mine.”

“She needs someone she can lean on, and I want her to know she can lean on me, that I’ll be there for her no matter what.”

I. He is the very definition of fiercely loyal and selfless.

Easy’s the type of guy who doesn’t ask much for himself. It would be fine with him if you’re seeing another guy because you don’t know his feelings about you and he won’t rub it off your face. He would be there waiting for you after a terrible date. He would be there for you even when it kills him to see you with other man. Because that makes you happy and he wants you to be, even when he’s hurting. He’d rather be in your life as a friend, on the sideline, because you’re not ready for his love yet, than not be there at all. He would sacrifice everything even his own happiness, go to great lengths just to see you smile. With Easy, you can let your walls down. He’d put you and your feelings before his very own. Because his feelings don’t matter; yours do. You do. With Easy, there’s no doubt that there’d be no one else but you.

“Don’t you get it by now? There is no one else. There never will be anyone else. There’s just her.”

I wanted her, had always wanted her, would always want her. But more than anything, I wanted her to be happy.

I loved her, and loving someone was more about them than you, so it didn’t matter what I wanted.

I thought I loved her before, hadn’t been able to imagine loving her more than I already did, but that love paled in comparison to how I felt about her now, to how I felt about our child–

I love, love Easy with everything that I am because he makes it so simple to fall in love him. He’s the perfect package for a lover–funny, affectionate, thoughtful and sexy. Even when he’s got a rep before, it didn’t make him love any less. In fact, he even loved harder. And the best part? He won’t let you down. Ever. I feel so jealous that Dani has him! But Dani deserved him so I think I’m fine with that.

I haven’t done any of the things I’ve done for you because I loved you; I did them because they were the right things to do. Loving you was extra.
