These Royals will ruin you…

From mortal enemies to unexpected allies, two teenagers try to protect everything that matters most.

Ella Harper has met every challenge that life has thrown her way. She’s tough, resilient, and willing to do whatever it takes to defend the people she loves, but the challenge of a long-lost father and a boyfriend whose life is on the line might be too much for even Ella to overcome.

Reed Royal has a quick temper and even faster fists. But his tendency to meet every obstacle with violence has finally caught up with him. If he wants to save himself and the girl he loves, he’ll need to rise above his tortured past and tarnished reputation.

No one believes Ella can survive the Royals. Everyone is sure Reed will destroy them all.
They may be right.

With everything and everyone conspiring to keep them apart, Ella and Reed must find a way to beat the law, save their families, and unravel all the secrets in their Twisted Palace.

Somebody please tell me how to mend a royally ruined heart? Give me the cure for my boo-booed heart? Because I’m in a rotten state not knowing how yet to move on after devouring this series that I loved from the very beginning. Never have I imagined that after two books, this series will still continue to cause rapid palpitations to my heart.

This is a young adult contemporary romance that was written from perspectives and voices that spoke to me even if I have never experienced what they went through (and I guess, never will). The genius tandem that is Erin Watt, has completely brought out something new and out of the box in this genre. And yes I can cry out to the world that for me each book delivered!

In Paper Princess, I was championing Ella Harper – young, good spirited and courageous. In Broken Prince I was rooting for Reed Royal – hell bent to win Ella’s heart again. Now in Twisted Palace I felt like a total groupie, shipping for Team Ella and Reed. I loved Reed and Ella individually in PP and BP, but I loved them even more as ONE in Twisted Palace! A cluster of stars, a UNIT, that never lost its sparkle and just continued to shine in my eyes. They battled with their demons together even if they knew that a hellish future awaits them. As a reader, I honestly felt like giving up myself. Maybe horrible things happen to good people and I should accept things as they are? I was that smitten and engaged.

Oh wow, Reed Royal was amazing in this third installment! He was more honest, selfless, more in touch with his emotions. His vulnerability coupled with Ella’s steadiness and playfulness brought more feels to this story that’s already drama and angst-driven. Ella, too, faced complicated developments in her life but Reed’s predicaments captured my attention more. The gravitational pull between these two still got through me and I never got tired of how the authors narrated their burning chemistry in a believable way. Passionate, naughty and sexy but not over the top since again this is a YA novel. And Sweet Baby Jesus, I was molten rock when I read Reed’s thoughts and declarations during the latter parts of the book.

Ella Harper is all I’m ever going to see, because she’s my future.
She’s my steel and my fire and my salvation.
She’s everything.

I was just a tad saddened because I only got glimpses of Easton, Gideon, Sebastian and Sawyer but I am optimistic that they will get their own stories in the future. Too much opportunity lost if not, because the other Royals are as intriguing and mysterious. I want more! Wade and Val’s blossoming romance continued to lift the hefty mood of TP. I also surprisingly liked the minor villains of the series.

Honestly, at first I didn’t give a freaking fly about the major villain in Twisted Palace. I just wanted that person out of their lives. I was confident and said, spare me the nitty gritty I just want my Ella and Reed happy. I was just a little bit torn about how the resolution was paced. Some revelations should have been more thoroughly explained and the resolution unhurried. Eventually, I felt that my heart was full because the questions that lingered (in the previous books) were answered.

In a nutshell, I think the magic ingredient of this series was how it broke boundaries. Subplots and scenes that go beyond the typical and clichéd. Revelations that continued to push the limits of the young adult realm. I was on top of the world during those moments when I sensed that I already know what will happen but still stunned by the turn of events, eliciting both fury and laughter.

For those who haven’t read this series, be reminded of its genre. Don’t expect your life to be deeply altered after you finish this series, but be ready to adore the living hell out of the Royals. I promise you will get hooked, you will want to jump to their dimension, you will want to kick ass and even lose faith. But in the end you will feel the bond and harmony of this family. In the end, YOU WILL LOVE!!!
