On the surface, I have it all—a career I adore, a loving family, the Nixon metabolism but not the Nixon ears, and a salary that supports my lavish taste in designer shoes, fine wine, and lacy lingerie…but I have no one to share it with.
Until the day I run into him—my one night stand from college with the cocky smile, let’s-get-out-of-here eyes, and dirty, dirty mouth.
Levi Brooks is six feet four inches of hot bearded fantasy. A sexy single dad with broad shoulders, strong hands, and a fantastically big…heart. (I mean, it’s massive. And generous. And it pumps so hard… um. Sorry. Lost my place.)
But he lives for his son, and he’s keeping me at a distance because he thinks I deserve someone better—a man who can give me more time, more attention, more of himself. He doesn’t believe he could ever be enough.
But he’s wrong.
It’s about the eldest Nixon sister, Doctor Jillian Nixon—30 years of age, beautiful, smart, has elegant taste in wine, shoes and lingerie and single, and single dad, architect, loving, gorgeously bearded Levi Brooks.
Jillian Nixon has been dealing with constant questions of her clan with her still being single at the age of 30. It didn’t help that Skylar and Natalie, her two younger sisters, are always in the state of lovestruck happiness with their partners. It’s not like she hasn’t tried the dating scene. She had but it wasn’t working for her and that the right man for her hasn’t come yet so she just focused on her work as a pediatrician. Until Levi from her college hookup came along just at the right time.
Levi Brooks is a full-time architect and a father and has been raising his child all alone, loves his son more than his own life and will do just about everything for him. But then he met Jillian, the one he shared a night of unforgettable sex with during college, and now with his past and present combined, he wasn’t sure if there could be a future with Jillian. Because he knew better. Or that’s what he thought.
This book! OH. MY. GOSH!!!
I love it, I love it, I. LOVE. IIIT!!! What am I gonna do with myself?! Am sooo happy with this book!
I am not sure I’m doing it justice because I’m sure words will fail me. To be honest, I was speechless when I finally finished reading because OH MY GOSH SO MUCH FEELINGS. I couldn’t think of a better explanation of how amazing this book, this series has been. It’s one of the books that I’d definitely reread a thousand times over and not regret it. It captivated my heart with such beautiful, heartwarming story of different kinds of love, humor, sacrifice, and acceptance. It has everything I basically love in a book—dirty scenes with substance, chemistry, comedy, romance, tears and family. I love the way it was written (loaded with sexiness, laughter and heartwarming and intense emotions), the characters, how developed they have been, the conflict of being insufficient without the icky-feels, and of the plot being heartfelt without missing the heat.
Some Sort of Love delivered a brutally honest take on some facets of life without compromising even a single wonderful, painful part of the journey. It’s refreshing, amazing and well-done. And so very dirty because Levi and Jillian doing each other—OMG, you’d be needing to turn the AC on to its coldest temp! But it’s not totally about the sexy scenes that made them both lovable; it’s their vulnerability, their human-ness to face that life ahead of them. Individually or together, that’s upon them.
Some Sort of Love has just solidified a top spot in my Most Favorite Books list. And Happy Crazy Love one of my most-loved series ever. This has been really so beautiful, my heart ached. What a way to wrap an excellent series!
