ARC was graciously given. This doesn’t affect my opinion of the book in any way. First two books, My Soul to Keep and Down to My Soul, must be read prior to Refrain.

People dream of a love that runs deep. So deep it feels like it’s always been with you, just waiting for the person who’ll own your heart and soul forever. So few ever find it, but for Rhyson Gray and Kai Pearson, happily ever after was only the beginning…

One of the biggest rock stars in the world and one of the brightest rising stars make a life together. Sometimes it’s glamour-filled days and blissed out nights, but it’s mostly staying true in the too-bright glare of the spotlight. It’s long stretches where the road is lonely and the work is hard. It’s living in a love that’s the safest place you know even while danger lurks at your door.

Book 3 of The Soul series is an emotionally-charged epic conclusion that had to be told and should not be missed for fans of this series and this couple!

HOLY. FUCKING. SHITBALLS. I think Kennedy has just successfully emotional-punched me in the eyeball with her another out of this world creation. And I regret nothing. Tears be damned.

Kai Pearson knew she had found her one true forever love with rockstar Rhyson Gray. But there’s so much more to that one great true love entails than just cloud nine-level of elation and contentment behind the glitz and glamour. And when love is this real, this unique, this glorious, Kai and Rhys are going to come hell or high water to preserve this fearless commitment they have for each other.

Kennedy did not just write words, she breathed into them like how the air touches everything and how you can feel it everywhere even in just a breeze. How it can make you shiver, how it can bring you to your knees. It will wrap you completely and you will not have it any other way.

To say that the book was flawlessly written would be toning it down. It’s poetic, poignant and truly one of a kind. It’s a gift. A God’s gift.

Just like Rhys and Kai. Just like this series. Maybe even more than that.

Kennedy did not just write Rhys and Kai, she breathed into them, made them work so hard so they could achieve the level of grandeur they both had now. They were shaped up to perfection with the struggles they faced head-on on the first two books that transported me back to when they became friends first above all else. And with every flip of the page, my love for this emotionally-packed series grew stronger and stronger. Refrain has never failed to mesmerize me. I was absolutely enthralled by the raw emotions seeping through, overflowing even, the words, the narration, their voices. The same powerful words that kept me up all night and had me crying ugly tears the next morning because the feelings Rhys and Kai have for each other was very real, all-consuming and beyond intense. It tugged every heartstring I have with consistent precision that left me so elated I had no idea what to do with myself. Rhys and Kai did not just stand out individually, they shine so brightly together as a couple. Even the love scenes were quintessentially and carefully crafted to balance the potency of words and the storyline altogether. The series was wrapped up so magnificently well, it’s insane how obsessed I’ve become with it. And it’s so annoying that Kennedy has always proved me wrong each I time I read a new book by her and I say it’s my favorite. Again. Stop it, you amazing thing.

Refrain has owned me heart, mind and soul and sealed the deal to make the Soul series a solid top favorite.

If you loved My Soul to Keep and Down to My Soul, this shouldn’t be missed. And if you haven’t started this epic series, I suggest you scoop up all of them now quickly because they’re just $0.99 each but only this release week! Don’t miss your chance to get acquainted with Kennedy’s poetic prowess and one of most unforgettable love stories that is of Rhys and Kai’s!
