Indulge your inner vixen…
Meet the Bad Boys… Four sinfully sexy, fiercely loyal, uber alpha brothers about to fall head over heels for their leading ladies. If dirty talk, cursing, or raw, passionate sex turns you off, the After Dark books are not for you, because everything’s naughtier after dark.
In BAD BOYS AFTER DARK: MICK…
Amanda Jenner is done being a boring-man magnet and has finally taken control of her love life. As any smart paralegal would, she’s researched the hell out of how to seduce a man. She’s waxed, primped, and ready to put her newfound skills into action–and a masquerade bar crawl is the perfect venue for her solo coming-out party.
Entertainment attorney Mick Bad lives by two hard and fast rules. He never mixes business with pleasure, and he doesn’t do relationships, which makes the anonymity of a masquerade bar crawl the perfect place for a onetime hookup.
Amanda thinks she’s hit the jackpot when she bags a tall, dark, and sinfully delicious masked man–until she discovers the man she’s made out with is her off-limits boss. Mick’s already crossed a line he can never uncross, and one taste of sweet and sexy Amanda has only whet his appetite. When Mick offers to give Amanda a lesson in seduction–no strings, no regrets, and for goodness’ sake, come Monday, no quitting–the tables turn, and Mick’s totally unprepared for the lessons this sweet temptress provides.
Amanda Jenner is tired of attracting boring men. Why she chose to have an attraction with someone forbidden as her boss, she has no idea. But she’s desperate to explore her sexuality and release the inner vixen in her so she’s done one thing she never thought she would do: be somebody she’s not and finally seduce a man. Armed with a new hair, tricks that she researched to execute the plan and confidence of a new woman, she believed everything’s going smoothly. Only, she didn’t know her plan would backfire. And it’s going to consume her.
You know I’m a huge fan of Melissa Foster’s books and I plan on reading allll her books—or maybe not F/F and M/M, but you get the point. And even when this book looked like it’s a BDSM kind of story which I thought at the beginning, I’m so glad that I took a risk and gave Mick Bad a chance. (About the BDSM thing, it’s so not!)
Bad Boys After Dark: Mick is seduction at its finest. Just from the first few pages alone, I was pulled right into a seductive, hot and consuming atmosphere! Melissa has set the tone of the story perfectly that it was complete with mystery, attraction and thrill!
Being a sucker of office romances, I have expectations as this one falls under the same sub-genre. This one’s different though. While the story revolved around Amanda and her quest to attract and hopefully bang a hot guy, it also focused on Mick’s issues—his family, his sister. It’s not just because they’re boss-employee but also because Amanda believes in happy ever afters and Mick… basically doesn’t. Yeah, that kind of complicated.
The first half of the book set quite an expectation so the sudden turnaround of events was quite a let down. It wasn’t that bad, it’s just that it seemed rushed and I was hoping both of them would remain a mystery to each other. Or at least one of them would. I didn’t expect the timeline as well. I mean, both of them agreed to bang each other just for two days and after that they knew they loved each other—right away? Their 3-years worth of attraction seemed to be a good history to know but not when you spend only two days with that person. Also, I was disheartened by our MC changing to someone she’s not just to attract men. Why this of all complications? To think she’s a freaking paralegal! She’s supposed to be strong. There’s too much use of “baby”, too, by Mick that it got annoying.
My bummed-out self rejoiced though when I got punched in the feels with an absofreakinglutely heartwarming ending I didn’t see coming! My. Gosh! I loved it so much!!! I’m not sure how Amanda handled all those feels on her own. I wouldn’t be shocked if she just melted or something.
Overall, I liked this book but not as much as I did with the previous books I read from her. But since this is a well-written romance with a light drama and a whole lot of tension and sexy times, I’d definitely recommend it! Especially to Melissa’s fans!
