Never disobey the court.
Never disobey the crown.
And never tame that vicious heart.
In A Vow of Thorns, sacred laws are broken when a beauty holds an iron heart.
It has been days and I still don’t know how to fully describe my love for this book. Let me start by saying that A Vow of Thorns was THE mother of all feels out of all the books from this series. The story was packed with the most emotions in varying colors. A reader can only handle a certain amount of madness but how could one resist a one hell of a reading experience right?
In this book, Molly and Tensley were no longer individuals with their own underlying motivations. A tandem, a force to be reckoned with, ready to conquer both love and evil. I loved Molly’s submissive but quiet strength in this book, supporting and respecting Tensley’s decisions. She was ethereal at the same time showcased her strengths without stealing the hero’s spotlight.
And just when I thought my infatuation for Tensley was already at its peak in book two, here I am sure that I’m utterly demented for the beast. He was still an alpha male but I saw him transform into this softer, respectful and devoted partner. There’s nothing sexier than a more vicious and more cunning Tensley, completely smitten by Molly. I swear his love was unimaginable, worshiping her in in more than ways than one.
R. Scarlett’s writing style was in full bloom in this book! I had highlights after highlights of soulful, stirring and engaging lines. There were no dragging parts and every moment written with a grand purpose. Every fight scene was transfixing and will put you at the edge of your seat. And every intimacy was narrated in different shades. There were indulgent and passionate parts and there were carnal and intense moments too.
“Thrust. Thrust. Thrust. So deep, so fast. The pleasure morphed to stardust.”
Yes, every part was memorable but there was this one scene that just pulled my heart strings. What it is? No effin’ way I’m telling. Let’s just say, I was waiting for it since book one and I can remember clutching my mouth and my chest with feelings of both happiness and anxiety when it finally happened.
A Vow of Thorns had a more underworldly and mythical feel, even darker compared to the first two books but still laced with realistic and tender reactions. Nothing’s more satisfying than a thickly layered story, with beguiling and developed plots and subplots, surprising game changers and brilliantly thought out twists. And this one absolutely delivered across the board. Best to have a prepared heart before reading this though because I’ll be honest here, the ending was earth shattering and tormenting!
I can’t wait to read the final book of this series. Although I know I’d be a sentimental fool when it comes out I’m still so itching to get it in my hands. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary, a story that will touch your untapped emotions, but romantic through and through then go put this on the TOP of your TBR. It was PHENOMENAL. As early as now I can already shout out that A Vow of Thorns will be joining my best reads for 2017. Enough said.
